My interest and passion for writing began while I was still a young girl. As a child, I enjoyed writing poetry. Later on during my adolescence and teenage years, I found happiness in writing for different school publications. Then, during my early adult years, I discovered an interest in writing short stories.
Writing has always been an effortless pursuit for me. It wasn’t until I was in my 30s that I realized I had a strong passion for writing unprompted fiction that wasn’t an obligation for high school or college courses. I discovered that I held and possessed the freedom to create my own world of fiction. A world where my own creativity and imagination could shape and mold a universe into whatever I desired it to be. This was the turning point for me, from lay writer to fiction novelist and author.
Although my style may seem unrefined due to a lack of formal literary training and experience, I work diligently and proactively to develop captivating adult fiction that is relevant, realistic and exciting.
I have completed four, full length novels.
My first three books comprise an epic saga entitled, Blood - Sweat - and Tears. Blood of Innocence, Sweat of Desperation, and Tears of Oblivion, observe the joy and sorrow of interracial, intercultural, and interfaith coupledom. This completed series contains a unique dual narrative of both members of the couple, giving a different, yet distinctive spin on typical adult fiction.
Whereas my most recent completed novel focuses on the journey of rediscovery of self and love for a domestic violence survivor. The One That Got Away, focuses on healing, self exploration and fledgling love, all while the protagonist is forced to deal with her violent ex-husband working earnestly to destroy her new found freedom and relationship through continued abuse. My latest page turner captivates readers as striking similarities between a prolific killer and someone close to the protagonist come to light.
I am a thirty something, Michigan native, married mother of three.
For the last five years, our family has lived abroad, as a perk to my husband’s career. We have resided in southwest Africa, the Asian Pacific, and our preparing for an upcoming move to the Middle East. Our expat type lifestyle offers a multifaceted dimension to my development of plot lines and cultural understandings.
I look forward to continuing to write provocative and exciting adult fiction and breaking into the printed publication industry!
